ELFCA French language school and the Gâteau des Rois

In January, France has a tradition to celebrate the Epiphany with a special Gâteau des Rois and if you get the bean hidden inside you receive a crown and you are designated King or Queen. Of course, we at the ELFCA French language school shared our gâteau and a Japanese young woman and a Canadian gentleman were queen and king of the day.

The Dante Alighieri association organised an opera evening in Salle Familia on 8th December. Arias from Nabucco, Aďda, Rigoletto, Macbeth, beautifully performed, ravished all the spectators, among whom the Managers of Elfca  French language school in South of France.

A ritual event at Espace 3000 as the association Isula Bella organised the 12th Corsican Days, a way to rediscover the Island through its greats figures; three main exhibitions, one commemorating the bicentenary of the death of nationalist Pascal Paoli, another about chapels and frescos, and a third one dedicated to Corsican star singer Tino Rossi ... And a funny question from a foreign student, which amused much teacher at Elfca French language school in South of France!

Like every year at the begining of December, the first Sunday was dedicated to the celebration of Bandol wines; this world renowned vineyard doesn’t belong to the “Côtes de Provence” group, but constitutes a guaranteed vintage of its own. A gorgeous weather, the magnificent scenery of Bandol port and plenty of wines to taste: a great day for Japanese young ladies who learn French at Elfca language school in South of France.

The Casino Auditorium was top full on Thursday 6th December and had it been bigger, it could easely have welcomed twice as many spectators, so numerous were the fans of the old singer who wanted to applaude him once more! Every first Sunday of the month, an antiques market is held on Place Clemenceau in Hyeres; besides some bric-a-brac of old dishes, vases and diverse pots, one can find really valuable items such as silver cutlery, ancient brooches and romantic lacy undershirts. Some original Christmas gifts that English lady studying at Elfca French language school in South of France was very pleased to find.
