Two lovely visits at ELFCA French language school in south of France

Lately we had a delicious surprise during coffee break at ELFCA French language school: Two previous students paid us a visit, one a polish young woman, the other a brazilian girl; both are now married to French men and live here in the south of France. And guess what, the Brazilian is the blissed mother of a sweet one year boy, while the Polish is expecting twin girls! Too bad that these born in France babies won’t need to come and learn French with us!

Mystery for students of French language school

The numerous spectators who attended the play proposed by L’Amphytrion group last Friday at L’Hang’Art were not disappointed. Huit femmes (eight women), a detective comedy from R. Thomas, stages the murder of a family man in a remote country house. Around him, eight women, each having a motive and none an alibi! “Very funny and full of suspense” said the group of students who learn French in the South of France.

Gambetta favoured by students at French language school

Learners of French in France amused by local controversy

The decision adopted by the Town Council to change the name of Hyeres’ main avenue from Gambetta to Ritondale after the name of late Mayor, aroused a mini revolution among the town inhabitants. More than 1500 people signed the protest initiated by shopkeepers. The project was finally abandoned. “I can’t really understand why people are so concerned, but I think Gambetta is much easier for a foreigner to remember” said participant to French language course in Provence.

General strike didn’t affect French language school in the South

Participants to French language immersion program appreciate it

29th January was a bad day for more than one in France. Among many other professions,  public transportations and education were severely affected by general strike. And as usual, the situation in big cities was much worse than anywhere else, with traffic jams and accidents due to the excess of people forced to use their car on that day, and lots of problems for parents to have their children looked after. Luckily, it didn’t change anything at Elfca, and courses took place just normally at French language school in Provence.

Enchanted forest for students of French language school

Learn French in Provence with the scent of mimosa

“Ca y est!” (here it is!) The mimosa is blooming everywhere. Although it is just something quite natural and usual, as it happens ritually every year at the period, like every year also people marvel again for the mimosa in flower appear like a kind of miracle. Both the countryside and the city gardens suddenly leave their winter look to “gold-shine”. And the magic scent also bathes the garden of French language school!

Learners of French in France discover snowy Marseilles

Amazing photo at French language school

Lately a teacher made a hit as she pinned up in the classroom a shot of Marseilles like no-one had ever dreamt to see it: the quays of the Vieux-Port covered with a thick white mantle, the roads and pavements slippery like an ice-rink and the palm-trees palms heavy with snow. An incredible sight that amazed students and teachers at French language school on the Riviera.
