Grammatical challenge for those who learn French in France

Is subjunctive a real headache in French language study?

Although in Latin languages subjunctive is a quite trivial issue, and therefore nothing to worry about for our Spanish, Italian or Brazilian students, it’s very often one of the worst nightmares for the Anglo-Saxon learners of French.

One tip if you want to overcome this difficulty: just make a point of using it as often as possible while you speak with your host-family and it will soon become totally natural - one of the advantages of coming to learn French in France.

But all agreed at last that they were happy to be here, for even if nights and mornings are often pretty cold, the temperature in the sun at Noon last Sunday of January went up to 47°, which ravished the participants to French language course in the South of France.

Lately, French chefs have tended to bring back into fashion what is generally refered to as “les legumes oublies”, forgotten vegetables! And Hyeres Saturday market suddenly started abounding with purple cauliflowers, kohlrabis, Jerusalem artichokes and swedes. At Elfca, the teacher had never tried any of them, but a German student said he often ate kohlrabi while the swedes were all but new for the British! “Autre pays autres moeurs” was the conclusion of teacher at French language school.
