Hyeres bay is particularly renown for the richness of its submarine fields; the Golden Islands site is beautifully preserved and Port-Cros national park is the warrant of the protection of this paradise. Many wrecks can be explored, where one may experience the emotion of an encounter with a huge – but harmless – grouper! Swiss or Savoyarde? When they were told that going to the doctor in France cost 21euros, American students were totally amazed. But when the lecturer added that the sum but for one euro was reimbursed to the patient by the Securite Sociale, they could hardly believe it!
