“Kakis” puzzle English girl learning French in France
What kind of tomato is that? English student asked her host family; I’ve never seen one like that before. I bet you have not! host answered. It’s not a tomato, it’s a “kaki” (persimmon); it grows on a tall tree which gives a marvellous fresh shade in summer. The fruits are ripe in October and are very much appreciated by Mediterranean people... But its gluey texture and muscat taste didn’t please the English girl who studies French at Elfca French language school in south of
