Summer temperature in April in South of France

Students taking French language course enjoy the beach with 27°C

The sun has decided to pour its blessings on the Easter holidays in the south of France, and happy young people start to fill the beaches with their joyfull activity. "Don't forget your sun lotion" is the most repeated advise of Elfca teachers to those who learn French in France here.

Hyeres fashion charms students who learn French in France

The French language school “Elegantes”

Once again, the Hyeres’ Festival des Jeunes Createurs has fascinated, puzzled, amused or teased the spectators who’d had the chance to obtain a ticket for one of the many parades. This year, a country was particularly honoured: Latvia won the Loreal professional prize and the first three prizes. But strangely enough Norway was preferred by Elfca’s students who study French on the Riviera.

Participants to French language course at Les Vieux Salins

Mid May, the TPM organisation, which pools eleven communes of the Var Mediterranean coast, celebrated Nature at Les Vieux Salins d’Hyeres, the ancient salt marsh stretching from Hyeres to La Londe les Maures. Several commented visits were programmed, and the ornithological discovery hikes were the most favoured by those who study French in the South of France.

Learners of French in France don’t like noise

Bikers’meeting not much appreciated by students at French language school

The lovely lagoon city of Port-Grimaud lost its quietness as it turned into a temple of American motorbike with the third Harley Davidson Eurofestival. Thousands of bikers invaded the area and many events such as parades and concerts attracted a lot of spectators, but the “normal tourists” didn’t really appreciate the uproar, and that was the case of the group of foreign girls who learn French in the South of France.

Transhumance fascinates participants to French language program

Students at French language school adore sheep

Sunday 10th May was no ordinary Sunday at La Garde-Freinet: It wasn’t the Lord’s Day but the “Forest and Country Life’s Day. The visitors could watch demonstrations from lumberjacks, fire-fighters and craftsmen, but no doubt the chief attraction were the sheep leaving for the Alps, were they’ll stay all summer. The survival of this ancient tradition of transhumance actually stupefied New-Yorker young student participating to French language immersion program.

Bravades always popular for learners of French in France

French language school tours to Cogolin

May is the month for “Bravades”. The most famous ones are Saint-Tropez’s, first because of the town’s own fame, but also because they are the most deeply rooted in local tradition. Only twice in the past 150 years did very important historical events prevent the fete from being carried on. Cogolin’s Bravades draw much less spectators, but that’s the reason why they were privileged by the group of students who study French language on the Mediterranean coast.
