Learners of French pick up mushrooms
So delicious! exclaimed participant to French language course
Autumn is mushroom gatherers’favorite season in France, and the South is certainly not the least privileged place for this activity. A week after the first October showers, mushrooms amateurs start scrutinizing forests and hillsides, in search of the tiny hidden treasures; and at night most of them will enjoy a fragrant “brouillade” or make their own preserves of “safranes”, orange mushrooms that grow under pine-trees, and that people in Provence prepare with white wine, vinegar, garlic and herbs, to be served with boiled meat or terrines. “Simply delicious” said to their host students who learn French in France at Elfca .
