French language schools don’t teach “càcou”
Marseilles slang interests foreigners who study French in Provence
The word “càcou” has just entered the “Petit Larousse 2008”, the French most renown and sold dictionary; and although most French understand this word, not so many use it in everyday conversations. Let’s just say that it is Marseilles slang and that it applies to boys and young men who show off, either in their behaving or in their clothing, as teacher explained to foreign student studying French in France at Elfca French language school.
