Hyeres the Brit surprises student of French language course

As you walk in Hyeres town center, you discover beautiful ancient buildings wearing proud carved names such as Park Hotel, Grand Hotel, Palais Lutecia, Grand Hotel des Palmiers... But don’t imagine you can reserve a room in any of them! All these palaces have been turned into private flats. They are the evidence of a time when Hyeres was a winter resort cherished by the British, a period that culminated with Queen Victoria’s staying in a luxurious Hotel at Costebelle. “Well, now it’s our turn” commented US students who learn French in France at Elfca.
