“Talk of the devil” says Englishman studying French in France
Teacher of French language’s translation arouses enthusiasm
A couple of days ago, something very funny happened during a lecture. A student wanted a translation of the expression “talk of the devil”; the equivalent does exist in France, only a little bit more complete: “Quand on parle du loup on en voit la queue” – litterally: When you talk of the wolf you see its tail – but the teacher’s explanations provoqued roars of laughter from the most mischievous of those who study at Elfca French language school in South of France! |
